Financial Aid
Important Notice if you are applying for
Financial Aid
Beginning with the 2003-2004 aid year, a student must have his/her FAFSA received by the federal Central Processing System (CPS) within 14 calendar days of the term start date in order to receive a State Grant for that term. For example, if a school’s fall term start date is August 18, 2003, the student’s FAFSA must be received at the CPS on or before September 1, 2003. If this particular student’s FAFSA were received at the CPS on September 2, 2003, the student would not be eligible for fall term, but could receive a State Grant for subsequent terms of the aid year. The student’s original FAFSA (or renewal FAFSA) receipt date at the CPS will be used regardless of whether or not the original FAFSA was valid or rejected by the CPS.
The family has the primary responsibility to pay for a student’s education. Financial Aid is intended to supplement the difference between the cost of education and the expected family contribution. Several financial aid programs are available to help you meet your educational expenses. The Financial Aid Office can help you determine the financial aid programs for which you are eligible.
You must be admitted to a program at St. Cloud Technical College (SCTC) that leads toward a degree or other recognized diploma. The Financial Aid Office determines your eligibility by applying federal guidelines.
