General Information
St. Cloud Technical College is a public institution that offers a variety of certificates, diplomas and degrees that you can complete in two years or less. Our faculty combine teaching experience with industry expertise to make our graduates marketable in today’s changing economy.
St. Cloud Technical College grants admission regardless of race, creed, color, veteran status, religion, gender, physical ability, age, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation or public assistance status. The college has a rolling admissions policy, meaning that applications are acted upon and students are notified of admission within approximately 30 days of receipt of all application materials. The college is committed to open admissions with the following requirements:
- Completion of a high school diploma or the Test of General Education Development (GED) certificate.
- A person who has neither a high school diploma nor a GED certificate may be admitted if that person demonstrates potential for being a successful college student. These students must meet with a counselor and additional testing may be required.
- Admission to the college does not guarantee admission to college-level courses. Some of the courses and programs may have prerequisites.
- When choosing courses and programs, students should consider their aptitude, interest, and ability to benefit from the instruction. Counseling and testing services may help prospective students in selecting appropriate programs and courses. Certain programs may stipulate entrance criteria required by program accrediting or licensing agencies.
- Non-native English speakers will be required to take an English language proficiency test before registration. If test scores so indicate, successful completion of special work in English as a Second Language is required.
